Patricia Elizabeth Prince-Griffin
RD, MS, LDN
How long have you been a member of MAND?
Why did you join MAND?
After graduating from my internship I wanted to get involved with nutrition focused community activities. I was also looking for a change to receive some mentorship.
How has membership in MAND been of value to you and your practice?
Absolutely. It is vital that we, RDNs, remember we are family and need to network with each other. I have learned so much from my fellow colleagues and am also excited to see different points of view about various nutrition concerns.
Tell us about yourself, your job, and what you find most interesting about your job.
I work with the VA hospital which is mostly geriatrics patients which I love since this population tends to be forgotten. In the outpatient care I get to see a host of different nutrition issues whether it is home enteral nutrition, DM, CVD, or GI conditions, I really get to practice my MNT skills.
How did you get into this field?
I was torn between going to medical school and culinary school and found nutrition fit perfectly.
Please list a few of your most recent accomplishments.
Patricia recently graduated with an AOS in Culinary Arts and besides working at the VA hospital works for non-profit organizations such as Cultivate Memphis and Knowledge Quest.
Aside from your professional career, what would you like MAND members to know about you?
I am here to serve you in whatever avenue you need. Contact me! I am always ready to listen and problem solve if need be!
